Oftentimes when Big Ten and SEC blue bloods get together to play football, the games are knockdown, drag-out, heavyweight battles. Doubly so for bowl games and postseason play.

The 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl (which is no longer the Outback Bowl, RIP) was not one of those games.

For the fourth year in a row, Michigan seized the Day and summarily stuffed him in a trash can.

Michigan football finishes non-conference play at 2-1. That loss was against the current top-ranked team in the country. If you’d offered Wolverine fans these results during the preseason, most would take them without blinking.

And yet…the results belie the look of the on-field product.

For Michigan football fans, the 2024 season preview is full of excitement and questions.

The Wolverines will certainly find answers along the way, but which queries will matter most as they begin the Sherrone Moore Era?

With positional battles to be won, depth charts to configure, and strengths/weaknesses to identify, Michigan football fans and reporters alike will poke and prod and pry for answers, but which questions will they ask?

Most schools face certain loss this year (133 in fact). Most by way of the regular season, some by way of the new 12-team playoff. This time next year, that 134th team will feel the same way Michigan football fans do in the here and now: immortal.
